Dearest readers,

Well, I was hoping not to have to make a post like this. We have been devastated in the current turn of events and things might have to change in the future depending on the legalities of being able to publish our books. If the bans take place then we will have to unpublish Liebe’s current work, and put future publications on hold. We will try to stay afloat by making merchandise to sell until we would be able to publish again. Hopefully it won’t have to come to that. We will stay and not go anywhere.

Due to the new allegations and exposed messages, I have deleted my NaNoWriMo account. I was suggested to use Pacemaker for a good tracker for my writing and editing. I have even used it to check the progress of me creating this new website. I an nearly finished with the second round of “editing” I am polishing and fluffing it up for beta reads soon. I am going to ask my followers about beta reading, but I like to pay my betas. I also will hire a sensitivity read as I feel it is a necessity. Liebe just remembered she still needs to respond to Storygraph about her novel for it’s vibes and how the book feels. She has no idea where to begin and it is hilarious. I will laugh until it is my turn and the tables are turned for her to laugh. I plan to have it beta reader ready by August first. I am nervous, but unlike Liebe I don’t feel there is anything large needing to be fixed. I think I have a good grasp on it and I want to make a few detailed fixes here and there, but I feel quite adequate about my manuscript. Summer has been all about work, work, work and we have been doing it, as you can see by this nice new website. Later, after things are more situated, we plan on adding a shopping cart to sell our books directly from here too.

I won! I finished the first draft and I have a lot of revisions to do, as it is very rough. A part of that is detailing the timeline along with the celestial and historical events that happen in 1660. From moon phases and eclipses in that year, to the treaty of Copenhagen and the crowning of the new king of Sweden. While the main character is doing her story, she gets caught up in dangerous situations from the events. For example for the plot‘s storyline to align with the eclipses and moon phases, she would be passing through Copenhagen the day before the coronation of the new king of Sweden. Not the best situation for a lone young woman, especially a trans woman. I need to sharpen up scenes and then self-edit before the critique partner/beta/sensitivity reads. Usually I take at least two weeks away after finishing a first draft, but I was itching to get back to it after one week. Hopefully things go quickly!

Post Three

Things were stressful for a while, but I stayed strong! I moved and while things are still being sorted, I had a brutal work schedule the past month and a half. In spite of this and not having touched my manuscript in over two months, I am in Camp NaNoWriMo at full speed with a goal of 30K words to add to the first draft manuscript. I am overshooting my goals each time and I am hopeful that I will finish and “win“ this month. Not just with the smaller goal, but the words are flowing and the future looks bright. For me at least, not my characters haha. I have been with Liebe on threads chiming in every once in a while. So if you follow us, you will get glimpses of sneak peeks. Anyway take care my lovelies and behave yourselves.

Post Two

It all begins with an idea.

I am halfway finished with the bare bones draft of my debut novel Für from this year‘s NaNoWriMo. I hope to finish the end of this month and begin to fluff the first actual draft in January. Witches and werewolves are complicated, yet fun to write. Especially in a historical setting, I hope to make the history nerds happy with a Captain America “I got that reference" feeling. I have been tinkering with ideas for the cover art as well, but it is all on the back burner for the actual writing and research I am doing for the novel itself. It‘s been very helpful to have a music playlist to keep me in the groove while I am writing. Thank you for your support!

Post One

It all begins with an idea.

Hallo und Willkommen!

I am an aspiring author looking to write horror. My first novel I will begin in November for my participation in NaNoWriMo. To give a hint, well I already did with the font choice of it's description in the publishing website. But for a little more of a hint: There will be moon phases, a witch, and a wolf. That is all I can say for now. I don't want to give too much, but Liebe is releasing her debut in early next year. Be sure to look at Yankee Concubine's place in the publishing website I am sure it will make her happy.
